The Planoform 650 Flycutter is a 2-axis Diamond Flycutting machine, designed specifically for single point diamond flycutting of plano surfaces in non-ferrous materials requiring optical quality surface finishes and precise flatness characteristics. The standard tilt head adjustment feature allows for manufacturing elliptical optics for the CO2 laser market with adjustments from -5 to 25 degrees.
The Planoform 650 Flycutter features an X-Axis that provides 650mm of horizontal travel and a Z-axis that provides 300mm of vertical travel.
The machine comes standard with a sealed natural granite base that provides exceptional long term stability. The traversing axis is a linear motor driven, hydrostatic oil bearing slideway with optimized stiffness characteristics. The vertical axis is ball screw driven with mechanical roller bearings. Velocity is accurately controlled by a linear scale feedback system in conjunction. It Utilizes Precitech’s UPx based machine control system with industry standard M and G code programming format. The machine also incorporates a high performance NT 151 spindle with industry leading thermal stability characteristics and self leveling dual chamber isolation system.
Precitech designs and builds their own hydrostatic oil bearing sideways with optimized stiffness and damping characteristics, and our own motorized air bearing spindles that allow us to maintain close control over quality and delivery.
